Manitoba PNP: Pathways for International Graduates and Business Investors
A Canadian degree is not a permanent residence card. And a fat bank balance is not a nomination either.
Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has separate routes for graduates and for business people. Each has its own rules, paperwork, and promises, so read them before you spend a rupee or a year.
International Education Stream
This stream is for graduates of Manitoba institutions who can add to the province’s economy. It has three pathways, and graduating alone is never enough.
Career Employment Pathway
You generally need:
- Graduation within the last three years from an eligible Manitoba-designated institution
- A full-time program of at least one year, or two semesters
- CLB 7 or the French equivalent
- A full-time job offer from an eligible Manitoba employer, usually for one year or more
- A job in an occupation on the In-Demand Occupations List
- The right work permit, enough funds, and a clear plan to stay
Bachelor’s graduates and above can take an eligible TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 job on that list, even if it’s unrelated to their studies. Shorter programs face different conditions. Check the list before accepting any job for immigration reasons.
Graduate Internship Pathway
This one is for master’s and doctoral graduates. You generally need:
- The degree, completed in Manitoba within the last three years
- CLB/NCLC 7
- An eligible Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate internship (Accelerate Entrepreneur included) with a qualifying Manitoba enterprise
