Salary Requirements: The guaranteed annual remuneration rate is set at €75,000 and it must be at least €30,000. In some cases, this threshold may vary depending on the type of position required, and its relevance to specific industries or sectors.
Labour Market Needs Test: In most cases, the employer has to go through a Labour Market Needs Test to demonstrate the job cannot be filled by an Irish or EEA citizen.
50:50 Rule of qualification: There is a rule that at least 50% of the total employees must be EEA nationals.
Job Offer: Obtain a job offer from a qualifying Irish employer.
Application Submission: Collect all the necessary documents and fill the General Employment Permit Ireland application form.
Employer Endorsement: The employer must complete and submit the application on your behalf, and the results of the LMIA if any.
Fee Payment: Submit the appropriate application fee if necessary. The fee depends on the duration of the permit.
Processing: Finally, you can send the application to the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment. General work permit Ireland processing time tends to take 8 to 13 weeks for the process to be complete.
Decision: Await the decision. Once approved, you will be issued the General Employment Permit which will enable you work in Ireland.
