The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is a Canadian immigration initiative aimed at addressing labor market needs and population challenges in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. It can also facilitate the entry of skilled foreign workers and international graduates who have job offers from designated employers in the Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador in terms of atlantic immigration program.
To participate in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, candidates must first receive a job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. Once they have a job offer, they can alsowork with their employer to apply for endorsement under the program. Once endorsed, candidates can then apply for permanent residency through the atlantic immigration program.
Job Offer: Applicants must have a valid job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. The job offer must be for a position that is skill level 0, A, B, or C under Canada's National Occupational Classification (NOC) for the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
Education: Applicants need to have completed at least a high school diploma or an equivalent educational qualification. For certain skilled worker streams, higher levels of education may be required.
Work Experience: Depending on the specific stream within the AIP, applicants may need to have relevant work experience in their occupation. This could vary from no work experience for certain international graduate streams to a few years of work experience for skilled worker streams under the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Language Proficiency: Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in either English or French through a standardized language test. The specific language proficiency requirements may vary depending on the stream and the occupation.
Settlement Plan: Applicants may need to demonstrate a genuine intention and ability to settle in one of the Atlantic provinces. This could include having a settlement plan outlining their intentions to live and work in the region under the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Secure a valid job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic Immigration Program provinces. The job offer must be for a position that meets the requirements of the Atlantic Immigration Program and is supported by a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an exemption from the LMIA requirement.
Depending on the specific stream within the Atlantic Immigration Program, you may need to apply for provincial endorsement or nomination from the relevant provincial government. Each province has its own nomination process and criteria, so you must follow the guidelines provided by the specific province where you have a job offer.
In some cases, you may need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province where you have a job offer. The EOI is a preliminary step where you express your interest in immigrating to the Atlantic region and provide information about your skills, work experience, and other relevant details.
If your application for provincial nomination is successful, you will receive a nomination certificate from the provincial government. This nomination certificate allows you to apply for permanent residence through the federal government's Express Entry system or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), depending on the specific stream within the Atlantic Immigration Program.
