  1. About Canada FSTP:

    • The overall Express Entry Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is one of the immigration pathways under Canada's Express Entry system, designed for skilled tradespersons who have some kind of wish to immigrate to Canada permanently. This program is specifically tailored for individuals with experience in skilled manual work who can contribute to the Canadian economy.

    • If you’re supposed to be eligible for the Canadian Federal Skilled Trades Program, every single candidate needs to meet certain criteria, including having at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equivalent amount of part-time experience) in a skilled trade occupation, meeting minimum language proficiency requirements in English or French, possessing a valid job offer or a certificate of qualification in their skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority, and demonstrating that they have sufficient funds to support themselves and their families in Canada in terms fo the Canadian federal skilled trades program.

  2. Eligibility For FSTP:

    • Work Experience: Every single applicant needs to have at least two years (24 months) of full-time work experience, or an equivalent amount in part-time work, in a Federal skilled trades program occupation list (National Occupational Classification - NOC) within the last five years. The work experience must be in an eligible skilled trade occupation as defined by the NOC Skill Level B.

    • Education: Every applicant needs to have completed a foreign educational credential equivalent to a Canadian secondary school (high school) diploma or higher. Additionally, they need to have completed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to determine the Canadian equivalency of their foreign education.

    • Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Applicants need to obtain enough points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to be invited to apply for permanent residency. CRS points are awarded based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other additional factors (e.g., Canadian job offer, provincial nomination).

  3. Application Process For FSTP:

    • If you meet the eligibility criteria, create an online profile through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. Provide information about your skills, work experience, language ability, education, and other relevant details.

    • Your overall profile will enter the Express Entry pool along with other eligible candidates. You will be ranked based on your CRS score, and candidates with the highest scores will receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draws to get the Federal skilled trades program.

    • Once you receive an ITA, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence, including supporting documents and fees. Ensure all information provided is accurate and up-to-date in terms of Canadian federal skilled trades program.
